Tacoma Short Bed Sleeping Platform

I have a 3 4inch higher than cab hieght camper and the set up works really well for me i can sit up which is nice.

Ive lived out of reg bed tacoma and t100 for a long time pretty comfortably but not sure on this one. I used to sleep in my durango all the time and it was great. Im looking into purchasing an older 4dr short bed tacoma the model before they put long beds on em. I used 3 4 inch plywood to build the whole platform in my bed of the truck on top of the wheel well. I only slept in my truck in october in erie when it got below freezing so sleeping with the tailgate down isn t an option for me. After a quick internet search we decided that we wanted to look for a toyota tacoma with a bed camper shell.

Any one have any experience living out of one. I will be doing some overlanding trips this summer and its much easier to just set up the camp cot and sleep in the bed with the tailgate down but no roof.
