Half walls are a special kind of wall introduced in the sims 2. However i am on the 3rd story of my house and i cannot place a window if there is a window on the lower floor directly below it. The window category has i believe 3 options for most windows and doors so that they are suitable for each wall height. I can not place windows in the upper circle because of the windows in the lower circle. Only one window or door per wall segment garapoes posts. You select which window type you want and then click on the room you want them on.

By default the game only shows the short wall height items did. If you are planning on utilising free window and door placement in a build it could be a good idea to wait until you are happy with your window and door placement before painting the walls.
