Shifting Does Not Lock Doors

Some factory and aftermarket alarms lock the doors as you shift out of park or the car goes faster than 7 10 mph and unlock when shift to park or turn off ignition.

Mode 1 this mode connects the shift position with automatic door locking but notably not unlocking. Press and hold the door lock and unlock switch for 5 seconds or more in the unlock direction within 20 seconds after turning the power supply position on. Check the draft. This is a cheap and easy fix. The complete lockset including the doorknob. When i stop and shift back into park they don t unlock as they do on my 03 tahoe. Turn ignition switch on 3.

Close all doors below door switch off 2. If you have the option to cancel this option and lock the doors manually then you know the signal input wire s have loose connection and are the culprits. If your door is badly warped it may not seal properly even when you move the door jamb. Insert the tip of a tube of powdered graphite into the keyhole. Again if one door doesn t work but others do the problem could be with the door lock solenoid. Mode 2 this mode simply turns off the feature.
